Please Sir, Can I Have Some More?

Now that I'm six months old, I've been sampling some culinary delights. Like rice cereal. And rice cereal. And more rice cereal.

Here's my rice cereal face....

With all that rice cereal, I need a little swig of something to wash it all down. Here's Daddy, giving me my first little drink of water.....
Now really, can someone please order me a pizza????

Giving Thanks

Don't worry, I wouldn't forget about telling you all about my first Thanksgiving!

So here's what happened....

My Baubee and Zaydee and Uncle Scott came over. Here I am telling my Zaydee something very important....

Here's Baubee, helping me pose in my Thanksgiving shirt....

And while we're on the subject of posing, here I am showing off my Chanukah bib....it does come early this year!

Baubee and Daddy did all of the cooking, and we had a feast! We even went around the table and said what we're thankful for. I was so mad when everyone skipped me! I had something to say you know! But since you didn't ask, I'll blog about it.
Here's what I'm thankful for:
1. My family
2. Kisses and hugs
3. My new size 2-3 diapers. Because now I don't have to pee all over myself every night.
Just remember for next year, ok?
And because I couldn't eat any turkey, or sweet potatoes, or stuffing, I just tried to hang around and look cute....

And then Baubee read me a story.

The End.

My Very Merry Un-Birthday!

I'm 6 months old! Guess what that means???

Well, for starters, I can pretty much sit up by myself for the official "chair picture" this month! Yep, that's right....no leaning in the corner all propped up like a baby!! I'm big time now!

Here I am, just chillin' in the middle....

That was hard work people. Let me just take a little rest here in the corner for a minute...
These blocks didn't need to be standing up, did they?

Thanks for putting them here Mom! I needed something to play with during this stupid photo shoot...

And just in case you thought we forgot about Curious.....we didn't. That damn monkey keeps trying to steal my shot! I'll show YOU Curious....don't fall!
Fine, if you won't get out of my space, then I'll just bite you. Or....gum you.

Whatever Dude. I'm sorry I was mean to you. Can we just chill here and be friends again?
Ahhhhhh.......now that's more like it!

Sittin' On The Dock of the Bay.....

Oh yeah, and I don't just take things lying down anymore!

I like sittin' up, watching the world go by.....
Giving my two cents to anyone who will listen....
Yep, that's what I think!

Dig In!

So you were wondering what I was doing to keep Mommy so occupied that she didn't have time to post new blog updates? Well, it all started when I realized that I was still a little hungry after I finished my bottle.....

Mommy made the mistake of leaving her cereal bowl where I could reach it. About two seconds after she took this picture, I dumped all of her Fruit Loops all over my playmat.
Good thing my folks were planning on giving me my first bites of solid food that day! Here's what I thought about my first bite.....
Are you watching this? What IS this?

You know, on second thought....maybe I DON'T like rice cereal.....

Really Mom? This is what being a big boy is all about?

OK, I'll give it another shot, but I can't promise you anything...
This stuff kinda grows on you.....

I won't lie, that wasn't too bad. I just need to think about the enormity of the situation for a minute.....

So I've given it some thought, and I think I like this "people food" thing! BRING IT MOMMA!

Mommy Is A Slacker

Sometimes my Mommy gets carried away with other things (like feeding me, bathing me, and giving me kisses) and she doesn't keep up with my blog like she's supposed to. Bad Mommy. Shame, shame.

So here's a little reminder that I'M STILL HERE PEOPLE!!!!

This is what I looked like when I grabbed my blankie and rolled over.....I covered myself up!

We'll be back soon....I promise!

24 Hours

Just so you know, I'm pretty big now, people.

You know why?

Because today, I sat in my stroller for the very first time WITHOUT my baby carseat in there. I was locked and loaded, and facing FORWARD! No scrunchy little bucket seat for me....I could kick back and relax and look at everything! Note to self: next time Mommy goes shopping at Target, opt for the baby seat. That experience was NAUSEATING.

Since I was big enough for that, Mommy thought that I was also big enough for my very own library card. She got all sappy and nostalgic and started telling me stories about how she loved the library when she was a girl. Jammie story time where she brought her stuffed animals, the Summer reading club, blah blah blah. But whatever, I like books, so I played along. We checked out a few books and some CD's, and then I got to hang out on my tummy in the kids section. I was feeling so big time, that I showed Mommy my new trick.

I CAN PUSH UP ALL THE WAY ON MY ARMS AND WIGGLE A LITTLE! Now you might not think that's very exciting, but for a stationery baby like myself, being able to move around ROCKS! So indulge me (and my Mommy) for a minute, and take a look.....

So you see, I've been able to do this "tummy time" push up thing for a while, but NOW I can actually get some AIR underneath my belly!

Those of you who don't have babies probably think that these videos are a little dumb. But let me set the stage for you. I used to have two positions. On my back. And then rolling over to my belly. But NOW I do this wiggle thing, and I push WAY up and rock a little...and sometimes I even scoot backwards a few inches! You may think this is old news, but it gave my Mommy and Daddy hours of entertainment tonight. In fact, you can hear their stupid commentary on these videos. Geesh. If I had known they were this easily amused, I would've done this shit a long time ago....

Oh, and now if a toy is to my SIDE, I can turn on my belly to get it! Mommy put me down facing her tonight, and then kept moving my toy, and I spun on my belly, inch by inch, all the way around. I can only go counterclockwise though. Go figure.

Thanks for hangin' in there with me people. I'll get working on something a little more dramatic for the next video.

Let's Make Some Nooooooise!

Just in case anyone was wondering, Max has lots of things to say! The only problem is, he gets very camera shy every time I try to catch him in the act!

If you tend to succumb to motion sickness easily, then don't watch this video! I had to aim the camera with one hand, while holding him with the other, the whole time trying not to let him see that I was documenting his conversation with himself. So really, it's a video of my living room, and then the side of Max's head. Just be sure to turn your listening ears on....

Jack's Special Day (The Celebration!)

Like I was saying, after church we got to hang out at the Campion's house and celebrate Jack! Here's my party face.....
Here's Jack's party face.....his Mommy and Daddy were really proud of him!

All the partying kinda wore me out. I had to take a chill break with Daddy for a few minutes...

MORE pictures? Fine, but I won't smile. I was tired, but I still liked hangin' out with Cousin Julie....

Jack and I will pool our allowance and give you 5 bucks if you can guess what we're both looking at....
Ummm....Daddy? What's in these red cups that everyone keeps drinking? If I can grab it with one finger, can I have some?
Jack and I crashed pretty hard Sunday night. All that partying wore us out! But it was worth it. I had a blast celebrating with my buddy and being there for his special day!!

Jack's Special Day (Serious Business)

Look closely friends....that handsome little boy in the picture below isn't me....it's my buddy Jack! Sunday was his special day, and we all went to church to see Jack get baptized. Doesn't he look like a stud in his Sunday best?! I was so proud of my boy....

Here's Jack getting dunked. Daddy tried to explain to me what that was all about....something about Jack becoming a big boy and being recognized by the church.....I was just worried his bottom was getting cold in there!

I'm here for ya Jack! No...over HERE! Five rows back, behind all these tall people!

Jack's godparents, Janette and Cliffy, lit a special candle.

Then everyone posed with the important man and my boy Jack....

It was a little hard for me to see everything, but don't worry Jack.....I was cheering you on!

Then it was off to Jack's Grandma and Grandpa's house for a PAR-TY!

New Tricks

Seriously people, I'm learning something new every darn day. It's exhausting being me.

Now that I'm getting closer to my six month birthday, I've added a few tricks to my repertoire. Like grabbing my toes......

And texting my friends....
Hey Jack....c u at the park b4 nap time buddy! L8r!
I've also taken up wrestling. I flipped right over on my cow.....
Take THAT cow.....you're not going ANYWHERE!
Oh, and I'm working really hard on trying to MOVE. Like, forward. When I wiggle my bootie up in the air like this, it kinda helps.....

Rub A Dub Dub....

How do you know when your baby has outgrown his infant bathtub?

a) When he is able to slosh almost ALL of the bathwater out onto the floor with just one set of kicks.

b) When he starts using the side of the tub as a teething device.

c) When he grabs on to the side of the tub for dear life as you're trying to pull him out.

d) All of the above.

Yes friends, the answer is "d", all of the above.

Just for the sake of reference, here is what Max looked like when he first took a bath in the baby tub:
And here is how Max takes a bath now, as of this week:

He's not quite big enough to sit up by himself in the big tub yet, so Daddy has to climb in there with him. At this point, we were getting soaked anyway, so why not? And in case you thought I'd be silly enough to post naked pictures of both of these boys, I'm not. Daddy is wearing swim trunks, and Max is strategically covered.
We're not too surprised that Max LOVES the bath. Especially now that he can kick around and relax a little. Except he keeps trying to drink the water....
This way, washing his hair is a breeze....

Of course, now that he's so big, we had to buy him a real big boy towel. So we went to Bed Bath and Beyond and Max tried a few out....
Ah, the adventures of a growing (and now VERY clean) little boy!
